A shortish walk over several peaks, with excellent views in all directions: Anglesey and the sea to the north, Snowdon to the south, Glyderau to the south east and Carneddau to the east. We will take this walk at a relaxed pace and hopefully it will be good weather and we can enjoy the views.
Parking is at SH 597 631, at the end of the road, just before it is blocked by a locked gate. The easiest way of getting there is via Deiniolen if you are coming via the A55, or over the hill from Bethesda if you are coming via the A5. The start is 360 m above sea level, slightly higher than Pen y Pass!
We will walk up the quiet reservoir road for 2km and then take the path on the left, climbing up to the splendid summit of Carnedd y Filiast, which is an excellent viewpoint. Next we stroll along the broad, almost level ridge to Mynydd Perfedd. Then along the sharper ridge to the rocky summit of Elidir Fawr from which the views of the Snowdon range are stunning on a good day. Finally we go down the path to Elidir Fach and then down the broad, grassy ridge back to the car parking.
