Once again we have managed to secure the excellent facilities at Plas Y Brenin for our AGM and Annual Dinner.
The celeb speaker is Rob Greenwood who will be presenting an audio visual presentation:
‘From North Wales to the North Face of the Eiger’
In 2002 Rob moved to North Wales to study Psychology at Bangor University. Having never climbed before these three years, initially envisaged for study, ended up as three frantic years catching up on both rock and ice. Upon graduating Rob decided to eschew the academic life in favour of working his way up through the ranks of climbing society, spending time working at Pete’s Eats, Joe Brown’s, DMM, and latterly the BMC.
In that time he has climbed over all over the world, with highlights being over 100 routes at Gogarth (the best crag in the world), The Shield on El Capitan (the second best crag in the world), and climbing the North Face of the Eiger/Matterhorn/Grandes Jorasses in a year. This talk – From North Wales to the North Face of the Eiger – will cover these ascents and many more. With a large quantity of self-deprecating humour heckling isn’t just allowed – it’s encouraged!
Order of play:
AGM: 18:30 prompt.
Audio visual presentation: Rob Greenwood 21:00
There will be a walk arranged for the Saturday and maybe the Sunday.
