Warning, this walk has a couple of sections without paths, so some slogging through heather and bog may be necessary but most of the route is fine.
Meet at 9am on Saturday 19th June at the end of the small road to Llyn Cowlyd from Trefriw (SH 74435 64164). At Trefriw take the road going straight up the hill through the village and turn off this to the right on a road signed to Llyn Cowlyd. Keep going up hill, don’t turn off right, and you will get to the end near the dam.
The walk goes from the Cowlyd dam, cutting up a trackless slope to the long ridge to Pen Llithrig yr Wrach. We go up that summit and down to the bwlch at the southern end of Cowlyd, then along the leat. We cut across more trackless ground to reach Moel Ddefaid and along Craigiau Gleision, then off the end and back down to the dam.
The route is about 8 miles but with quite a bit of ascent.
