Meet to leave by 9.00 at Penmaenpool car park. Take 1/2 cars to Morfa Mawddach car park. Walk across Barmouth bridge, up through the old town and onto the ridge line above – this part of the walk has really stunning views and is full of interest. Walk along to Diffwys and then down by the old miners track into the forest. The final bit is following the cwm down through the bird reserve passing some old gold mine workings and across Penmaenpool bridge (small toll). About 7 hours. 13+ miles. 1100m of ascent. Easier than the Cadair Idris walk through.
